Competition Motors, Hollywood, c. 1963


A brand new gray market 1500 Ghia on the lot. VW didn't offically offer the Type 3 range in the US until the 1966 model year, and never sold the Type 34 Ghia here, but if you lived in Los Angeles in 1963 you could step into an authorized VW dealership and drive off in a brand new VW 1500 Karmann-Ghia.
